Effingham Sacred Heart and St. Elmo/Brownstown split girls junior high basketball victories Tuesday.

The Shamrocks claimed the seventh-grade game, 17-15.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Elmo/Brownstown was a 26-18 winner.

 

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was a winner over North Clay (Louisville) in games Tuesday.

CHBC held a 14-3 first half lead in the seventh-grade game and went on for a 24-10 victory.

Madison Dawson tallied eight points to lead the winners. North Clay was led by Sylvia Robey with three.

CHBC improved to 3-1 in the National Trail Conference, 4-2 overall.

In eighth-grade play, CHBC edged North Clay, 19-16. CHBC held a 10-8 first half lead then had a 9-8 second half.

Macee Rodman scored 12 for the winners. M. Boose led North Clay with six.

CHBC is now 3-1 in the conference, 4-2 overall.
