Effingham claimed a seventh-grade girls basketball victory over Teutopolis Monday.

The Mustangs trailed T-town 2-1 after the opening quarter but came back to lead 9-7 at halftime. T-town had a 5-2 third quarter to lead 12-11. Effingham then had a 10-1 final period for the 21-13 victory.

Wolfe led the way for Effingham with 12 points. Probst led the Shoes with seven.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed two victories over Neoga in Monday competition.

CHBC won the seventh-grade encounter, 26-4. CHBC held a 17-0 opening half lead.

CHBC was led by Averie Vaughn with 11 points. Neoga was led by Henderson and Saunders with two each.

In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC downed Neoga 35-16. With a 20-10 halftime lead, CHBC outscored the visitors in the second half 15-6.

Macee Rodman scored 15 for the winners. Kepp and Richard tallied eight each for Neoga.

At Louisville

North Clay picked up an eighth-grade victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown Monday. North Clay was a winner, 25-13.

In the sevneth-grade contest, SEB captured the victory, 34-12.
