The Washington Wizards’ leading scorer, Bradley Beal, and the Brooklyn Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie won't take part in the NBA’s restart.

Beal is skipping it because he has a rotator cuff injury, and Dinwiddie won’t take part because he’s still testing positive for the coronavirus.

Letter Sent Objecting Plans to Honor Black Lives Matter

Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler of Georgia, a co-owner of the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, sent a letter to Commissioner Cathy Engelbert Tuesday objecting to the league’s plans for honoring the Black Lives Matter movement.

Loeffler asked that plans be canceled for players to wear warmup jerseys with “Black Lives Matter” and “Say Her Name” on them and for all uniforms to instead have the American flag.

Engelbert responded, saying, “[W]e, along with the teams and players, will continue to use our platforms to vigorously advocate for social justice.” The players' union tweeted its own response that spelled out, “E-N-O-U-G-H!” and “O-U-T!”
