Eight games were contested the NTC/CIC Conference Girls Basketball Shootout Saturday at Altamont High School.

In the opener, Dieterich fell to Shelbyville, 72-58. Shelbyville took a 49-29 halftime lead and never looked back.

Dieterich was led by three players in double figures. Emily Bloemer tallied 15 while Kaitlyn Boerngen chipped in with 14 and Madilyn Brummer finished with 10. Boerngen connected on five baskets, three of those from three-point range.

In the second game, South Central trounced Meridian, 51-24. The Cougars held a 28-10 halftime lead and had a 23-14 second half.

Only one player scored in double figures for the Cougars, Halle Smith with 10 while a total of eight players scored.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg then edged Warrensburg-Latham, 36-31. The Hatchets edged ahead 4-3 in the opening quarter and led 15-12 at halftime. WSS had a 10-8 third period.

WSS was led by Hannah Hayes and Mikala Nichols with 12 points each. 

Clinton edged Neoga 66-60 in game four in overtime.

Clinton pushed ahead 29-22 at halftime. Neoga came back with a 14-10 third quarter and knotted the score with a 20-17 final period run. In the overtime, Clinton got the momentum back with a 10-4 score to pull out the victory.

Neoga was led by Olivia Titus with 18 points, Kylee Phillips with 14 and Audrey Ramert with 12.

Moweaqua Central A&M tallied a 67-47 win over North Clay (Louisville).

Central A&M had a 24-11 second period and put the game in the win column.

North Clay was led by Lovett with 26 points on five field goals that included two three-pointers and was 10 of 15 at the line.

Tuscola handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 46-42 loss. CHBC held an 11-9 opening quarter lead but Tuscola moved ahead 18-16 at halftime and 35-23 in the third quarter. CHBC rallied with a 19-11 final period only to fall short.

Carsen Burks scored 15 points for CHBC while Lauren Wojcik added 10.

Claire Wilhour did all she could but Brownstown/St. Elmo fell to Decatur St. Teresa, 43-40.

St. Teresa held a 21-17 halftime lead but BSE mounted a comeback in the third period to pull ahead 28-27. St. Teresa righted the ship in the final period with a 16-12 run for the win.

Claire Wilhour connected on 10 field goals that included five trifectas and was five of six at the line for 30 points. She has now become BSE's all-time leading scorer in the school's history.

In the final contest, Altamont dropped a contest to Sullivan, 67-53. The Indians trailed 31-23 at halftime and could never recover.

Brooke Runge scored 26 points while Allyson Hardiek chipped in with 13 and Ellie McManaway added 10.
