Dieterich claimed two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in junior high boys basketball action Friday.

 

Dieterich won the seventh-grade contest, 37-21. Dieterich held a 24-9 halftime lead. Westendorf tallied 10 points while B. Niemerg added nine for the winners.

CHBC was led by Ernie Villar with seven. The Bobcats drop to 6-3 in the National Trail Conference, 9-9 overall.

In eighth-grade play, Dieterich was a 40-27 winner. The Roadrunners trailed CHBC 8-6 after the opening quarter but moved into an 18-12 halftime lead.

Jackson Holste scored 11 for the winners while Gephart added nine.

CHBC was led by Gage Lorton with 11. CHBC dropped to 7-2 in the conference, 9-6 overall.

At Martinsville

Jasper County fell twice n the LEIC Tournament Saturday.

Casey-Westfield tallied a 58-32 win over Jasper County in seventh-grade tourney play.

Jasper County was led by Lain Burgener with 20 points. Jasper County dropped to 4-12 on the season.

In the eighth-grade meet, Lawrenceville was a 43-36 winner over Jasper County.

Caden NIchols led Jasper County (8-7) with 14 points.

Teutopolis Shootout

Effingham St. Anthony, East St. Louis Clark and Teutopolis competed in a shootout Saturday in seventh and eighth grade play.

In a seventh-grade B contest, T-town downed St. Anthony, 42-7. Andrew Probst led the winners with eight points. St. Anthony was led by Wiedman with four.

In the eighth-grade B game, T-town was a 51-18 winner. The Wooden Shoes had two players in double figures, Kolten Tabbert with 11 and Conner Hoelscher with 10.

St. Anthony was led by Wegman with five.

East St. Louis Clark then defeated Effingham in a seventh-grade contest, 61-48. The Bullpups were led by Link with 19, Schmidt with 12 and Frost with 10.

In the eighth-grade game, ESL Clark won 44-35. St. Anthony held a 20-18 halftime lead and led 27-22 going into the final quarter. Clark came back with a 12-8 score for the victory.

Roepke led St. Anthony with 12 points.

Teutopolis then fell to ESL Clark in seventh-grade action, 50-35. Clark held a 25-19 halftime lead then had a 19-9 third quarter.

T-town was led by Carter Hoene with 13 points.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town came out a 51-29 victor. The Shoes led 28-17 at halftime and had a 23-12 second half.

Eli Hanson led the Shoes with 10 points.
