"We played really good at times today," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "Hayley played her best varsity game of her career. She had 26 points and six rebounds. She had a great week of practice and carried that over into the game.

"Callie Feldhake also had a great floor game with seven rebounds, three assists and four steals. Sawyer Atlhoff came off the bench after Ella got hurt and did a really nice job for us as well. Annie Frost had four points and seven rebounds. We just have to play a full game.

"We had a bad nine minute stretch from the end of the second quarter until midway in the third and against a team like Mount Zion with all of their experience, it makes it really hard to come back on them."

The Hearts drop to 2-2 in the conference, 5-4 overall. Mount Zion is 5-0 in the conference, 10-3 overall.
