Effingham St. Anthony and North Clay (Louisville) split girls junior high basketball victories Tuesday.

 

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade contest, 34-18. St. Anthony held a 10-6 first half lead then pushed that to 26-10 going into the final period.

Nuxoll and Soltwedel tallied 10 points each for the winners.

North Clay was led by Price with six.

North Clay then captured the eighth-grade contest, 49-28. North Clay pushed out to a 12-5 opening quarter lead and led 26-13 at halftime.

Ballard scored 28 points while VanDyke chipped in with 18.

St. Anthony was led by H. Niebrugge with 13.
