Teutopolis, CHBC Win in Girls Hoops Action

Teutopolis and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City posted wins in girls high school basketball action Friday night.

The Lady Shoes defeated Kankakee Bishop McNamara 51-45 in their annual battle at Parkland College in Champaign.

Madeline Hartke led Teutopolis with 17 points while Jessica Schumacher scored 16 points.  Also for the Lady Shoes: Haley Giles eight, Chelsey Hardiek four, and Danielle Repking and Cierra Thompson three points each.

CHBC posted a 61-44 win over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran behind a monster night from Micah Jones. 

The SIUE-bound Jones scored 30 points and pulled down 21 rebounds to lead the Hornets.  Ava Paruleski scored 16 points for CHBC, now 20-5 on the season.  Also for CHBC: Jensyn Morrison and Kirby Herrmann four points each, Taylor Edwards three, and Chandler Ward and Ashley Miller two points each.

CHBC won the JV game 38-19.
