Carsyn Fearday Signs to Play at Lake Land

Effingham High School senior Carsyn Fearday isn't ready to quit playing basketball. Fearday signed Tuesday to play college basketball for the Lake Land Lady Lakers.

In doing so, Fearday will remain paired with her Lady Hearts teammate, Abby Weis, who had signed earlier with Lake Land.

Carsyn said the big factor, though, was remaining close to home, since she is part of a tight-knit family. She plans to work toward her career as a Physician's Assistant, so will later move on to a four-year school. Lady Hearts Coach Jeff Schafer thinks Fearday's work at Lake Land could help her continue playing in a four-year program.

As for Carsyn, she said the signing ceremony was "bittersweet" as she's had a tremendous time playing at EHS and such great comraderie with her teammates. Greg and Zach Rainey of the Daily News spoke with Carsyn about her decision...
