Area Players Headed to State Three-Point Competition

Two area girls basketball players are headed to state competition in the Country Financial Three-Point Showdown.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Tabitha Endsley and Neoga's Olivia Titus will head to the Class 1A State Tournament. The pair advanced from the Moweaqua Central A&M Sectional Thursday evening.

Endsley hit seven and went into a shoot-off and tallied four. A second shoot-off saw Endsley finish with six and advance.

Also advancing from the Moweaqua Central A&M Sectional were Payton Propst of Martinsville and Emily Cesaretti of Nokomis.

All sectional qualifiers head to the Class 1A and Class 2A State Tournaments to compete February 21-23. On Thursday, there will be a shootaround at Redbird Arena in Normal from 11:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The preliminaries will then begin at 5:04 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. The semifinal sessions are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22 with the finals Saturday, Feb. 23.
