TOLEDO -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed a freshman/sophomore boys basketball victory over Cumberland, 53-22 Monday.

The Bulldogs ripped out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead and led 32-13 at halftime.

Ty Wiedman led the way for St. Anthony with 13 points while Seth Hotze chipped in with 12.

Cumberland was led by McElravy with six.

At Effingham

Altamont ran off to a 28-22 halftime lead but Effingham rallied with a 20-4 third quarter and went on for a 59-42 victory in freshman/sophomore boys basketball action Monday.

The Hearts had three players score in double figures. Hardiek tallied 14 while Volpi and Zerrusen scored 11 each.

Altamont was led by Tyler Robbins with 20 points.
