Seven Games Contested at Altamont Shootout

ALTAMONT -- Seven games were contested between National Trail Conference and Central Illini Conference teams Saturday at Altamont High School.

In the opener, Hutsonville/Palestine downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 78-55. H/P took a 34-27 halftime lead and pushed that to 51-38 going into the final period.

CHBC was led by Dylan Webster with 17 and Ditton Curl with 10.

The second contest went to St. Elmo/Brownstown. The Eagles edged Sullivan, 59-57. The score was knotted at 28-28 at halftime. SEB moved ahead 43-38 going into the final quarter then had to hold off Sullivan for the victory.

Nick Rosborough and Jacob Baron led SEB with 14 points each while Bryton Pruett chipped in with 10.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg captured the third contest over Clinton, 46-33.

The Hatchets moved ahead by two points at halftime then had a 27-23 lead going into the final period and outscored Clinton by nine.

Beau Bennett scored 14 to lead the winners while Adam Burton added 11.

North Clay (Louisville) pounded Tri-County, 79-44.

The Cardinals had a 45-21 halftime and that was the contest.

Luke Fleener led the way for the winners with 17 while Tyson Jones added 15 and Nick Miller 11.

Meridian then claimed a 90-75 win over Neoga in a high-scoring contest.

Meridian held a 46-39 halftime lead and led by 13 going into the final quarter.

Neoga was led by Reece Johnson with 19, Trevor Roy with 18, Levi Peters with 15 and Mitchell Cornell with 12.

Dieterich fell to Shelbyville in the sixth game of the day, 75-40. The Rams took a 32-22 halftime lead and led 58-32 going into the final quarter.

Dieterich was led by Derek Kuhl with 19.

Altamont finished out the evening by beating Tuscola, 62-54.

The Indians trailed Tuscola 15-11 after the opening quarter and 28-24 at halftime. The Warriors were still ahead by four going into the final period. That's when Altamont took charge with a 25-13 run.

Altamont had three players hit double figures. Alek Biggs led the way with 23 while Denver Duckwitz added 14 and Aidan Jahraus tallied 11.
