Bulldogs Post Convincing Win Over South Central

The St. Anthony Bulldogs exploded out of the gate, leading 22-3 after one quarter, on the way to a 52-20 win over the South Central Cougars in National Trail Conference basketball action Tuesday night at the Enlow Center. The game was heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com

St. Anthony held the Cougars to just four made shots in 23 attempts. Logan Lotz made all four of those shots on his way to 14 of the Cougars' 20 points. Daniel Roberts and Hunter Brandt each scored three points from the free throw line.

St. Anthony, meanwhile, was able to get production from up and down the roster. Jaccob Dust led the way for the Bulldogs with 12 points and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Luke Ludwig was also in double figures with 11 points. Also for the Bulldogs: Alex Brandenburger 8, Kaden Fearday, Logan Antrim and Bryson Wall with 6 each, and Jack Hoene with 3.

The Bulldogs made 19 of 40 shots, 48%, including 7 of 12 threes. They made 8 of 10 foul shots, turned the ball over just eight times, and grabbed 25 rebounds.

South Central made 12 of 16 free throws, turned the ball over 14 times, and grabbed 12 rebounds.

St. Anthony improved to 18-8 on the season, while South Central slipped to 14-11.

St. Anthony won the JV game 55-23. For the JV Bulldogs, Craig Croy with 10, and Kennan Walsh, Eli Moore and Grant Nuxoll each with eight. Keenin Willshire led South Central with 12 points.
