Four players hit double figures as Effingham St. Anthony High School downed Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in National Trail Conference boys basketball action Friday, 79-28.

The Bulldogs ran off to a 23-10 opening quarter lead and led 37-16 at halftime. St. Anthony had a 25-7 third quarter.

Jaccob Dust led the way with 17 points while Jack Hoene and Luke Ludwig scored 12 each and Kaden Fearday chipped in with 11. The Bulldogs connected on six three-pointers with Alex Brandenburger putting in two and four other players with one each.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Jackson Miller with eight points and Beau Bennett with seven.

St. Anthony also claimed the junior varsity game, 51-20.

Dieterich picked up a non-conference victory over Tri-County in action Friday, 65-53.

The Movin' Maroons edged out to a 19-13 opening quarter and led 29-24 at halftime. Dieterich then had a 21-13 third quarter to claim the win.

Collin Hartke scored 20 points for Dieterich while Cole Niebrugge chipped in with 16. Evan Bohnhoff, Matthew Hunzinger and Derek Kuhl tallied eight points each.

At Mulberry Grove

St. Elmo/Brownstown Coach Greg Feezel notched career win 189 surpassing Dan Denton as St. Elmo's winningest coach as the Eagles won over Mulberry Grove in Friday evening action.

Mulberry Grove took a 13-5 opening quarter lead but SEB fought back with a 21-8 run to lead 26-21 at halftime. Mulberry Grove came back with a 19-14 third quarter to tie the score at 40-40. SEB then edged the Aces 17-16 in the final period for a 57-56 victory.

SEB improves to 2-0 in the Egyptian-Illini Conference and 10-9 overall.

Jaxson Tish scored 19 points while Andy Goldsborough added 14 and Nate Philpot 11 for the winners.

Neoga claimed a non-conference victory over Ramsey in action Friday evening, 54-39.

The Indians pushed into a 16-9 opening quarter lead and led 32-19 at halftime.

Two players scored in double figures for Neoga. Trevor Roy led the way with 19 points while Reece Johnson chipped in with 17. Roy hit four field goals, one from three-point range, and was 10 of 11 at the line. Johnson hit only two field goals, one trifecta, and was 12 of 14 at the line.

The Indians fnished with only 12 field goals and were 27 of 33 at the line.

South Central played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in National Trail Conference action Friday and took a 68-42 victory.

The host Cougars were led by Logan Lotz, a 5-foot-8 senior, with 23 points while Hunter Brandt, a 6-foot-3 junior added 11 and Keenin Willshire, a 6-foot-2 freshman, scored 10

South Central improves to 2-3 in the conference, 11-8 overall.

CHBC had two players in double figures. Eddie Clearwater led the way with 11 points while Trace Smith added 10. Dylan Webster chipped in with nine.

South Central also claimed the junior varsity game while CHBC won a freshman/sophomore contest.

Altamont took a 45-20 halftime lead on Patoka and never looked back in a 76-41 non-conference victory Friday evening.

The Indians' Alex Biggs scored eight points in the opening quarter and Aidan Jahraus added six. Biggs, a 5-foot-9 senior, finished with 33 points. He connected on 11 field goals, including three trifectas, and was eight of 11 at the line. Jahraus, a 5-foot-10 junior, tallied 17 points on six field goals and five of six at the line. Also in double figures was Denver Duckwitz with 11.

Altamont hit 18 of 23 free throws in the contest.
