The San Antonio Spurs beat the Detroit Pistons 119-107 Monday night, giving Gregg Popovich his 1,221st career NBA coaching victory. That ties Popovich with Jerry Sloan for third all-time, behind only Don Nelson and Lenny Wilkens.


Rockets Trade Carter-Williams To Bulls

The Houston Rockets have traded reserve guard Michael Carter-Williams and cash to the Chicago Bulls for a heavily-protected second-round pick. While the trade will let the Rockets save on the tax hit, they’re unlikely to ever receive the pick.


AP Top Four Remain Same

Duke, Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia remain in the top four in The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll. However, losses by Kansas, Nevada and Florida State moved Gonzaga back into the top five, followed by Michigan State, Kansas, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Nevada rounding out the top 10.
