COWDEN -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and South Central split junior high boys basketball victories Tuesday evening.
CHBC captured the seventh-grade contest, 31-27. CHBC held an 18-15 halftime lead and pushed that to 26-19 going into the final quarter then had an 8-5 score.
Clayton Wojcik tallied 11 for the winners while Carson Evans added nine.
South Central was led by Markley with nine.
In the eighth-grade contest, South Central claimed a 60-53 win over CHBC.
South Central led 38-24 at halftime then had a 17-11 third period and had to hold off a charging CHBC in the final quarter.
Watwood scored 29 for the winners while Dodson added 11.
CHBC was led by Hayden Corley with 17 and Trevor Theis with 10.
