BROWNSTOWN -- Brownstown/St. Elmo picked up a non-conference victory with a 63-30 tally over Casey-Westfield in girls high school basketball action Tuesday evening.

BSE stepped out to a 19-8 opening quarter lead as Olivia Campbell scored seven points and Claire Wilhour eight.

BSE continued its scoring binge with a 21-7 second period run to lead 40-15 at halftime.

Campbell and Wilhour finished with 10 points each for the winners while Natalie Oberlink contributed 10 points. Campbell had four steals and Wilhour five steals and seven assists. Oberlink finished leading the way in rebounds with eight.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ran off to a 16-3 opening quarter lead and went on to down Cumberland, 49-33 Tuesday evening.

Carsen Burks led the Bobcats with 11 points. Hailey Persinger led in rebounds with five. Tabitha Endsley led in assists with four.

Cumberland was led by Josie Brown with 10 points. Sage Carr had 10 rebounds, one assist and four steals while Zoe Mitchell had eight rebounds, five steals and three assists.
