OLNEY -- Teutopolis downed Olney in both seventh and eighth-grade boys basketball contests Tuesday.

T-town won the seventh-grade game, 41-11. The Wooden Shoes opened up an 18-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Tyler Pruemer led the Shoes with eight points.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town edged Olney, 48-46. T-town held a 26-20 halftime lead and played Olney even in the third period. Olney then had an 11-7 final period to pull within two.

T-town was led by Logan Roepke with 16, Brendan Niebrugge with 10 and James Niebrugge with 10.

NTC Seventh-Grade Tournament

Sigel St. Michael and St. Elmo/Brownstown advanced to the championship game of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament at Sigel St. Michael Tuesday.

St. Michael defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 39-17 in the first game of the evening. The Sharpshooters took a 23-6 halftime lead.

B. Fearday scored 11 points while Ruholl and Halton added 10 each for St. Michael. CHBC was led by Clayton Wojcik with five.

St. Elmo/Brownstown then beat North Clay (Louisville), 25-22.

The tournament will come to a close Thursday evening with Dieterich taking on Neoga at 5:30 for the consolation championship followed by CHBC meeting North Clay for third place at 6:45 and St. Michael taking on St. Elmo/Brownstown at 8 for the championship.
