BEECHER CITY -- Effingham St. Anthony High School had 11 players score and three of those in double figures in pounding Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 82-34, in National Trail Conference boys basketball play Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs ran off to a 31-6 opening quarter lead and that was the game. Jack Hoene, a 6-foot junior, scored 11 points in that opening quarter surge and finished with 19 for the contest.

Bryson Wall tallied 15 and Jaccob Dust added 14. Kaden Fearday was a point away from double figures with nine.

CHBC was led by Dylan Webster with 13 points.

St. Anthony also claimed the junior varsity contest, 69-22 and a freshman/sophomore game, 29-16.

At Teutopolis

The Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis ripped out to a 22-4 opening quarter lead on Paris and never looked back in a 76-25 victory Tuesday.

The Shoes held a 44-14 halftime lead. Two players hit double figures for T-town. Clint Weber, a 6-foot-7 senior, scored 18 while Dawson Smith, a 6-foot-6 senior, tallied 14. Smith led in rebounds with 11 and had five assists.

At Neoga

Dieterich tallied a 10-point victory over Altamont in a National Trail Conference meeting Tuesday evening, 59-49.

Neoga stepped out to a 16-8 opening quarter lead but Dieterich mounted a comeback with an 18-8 second period as Evan Bohnhoff connected for eight of those points. It was then the Indians turn to rally with a 13-11 third period to tie the score at 37-37.

Dieterich's Bohnhoff nailed two three-pointers and two free throws for eight points as the Maroons had a 22-12 final period to pull out the victory.

Bohnhoff, a 5-foot-10 senior, scored 25 points. He finished with nine field goals that included four three-pointers and was three of three at the line. Also in double figures was Collin Hartke with 14 points.

Neoga was led by Reece Johnson with 20 and Trevor Roy with 11.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged out to a 12-11 opening quarter lead and led 24-16 at halftime. The Hatchets went on for a 42-39 non-conference victory over Arcola Tuesday evening.

Beau Bennett tallied 11 points while Jackson Miller added 10 for the winners. The Hatchets improve to 4-3 on the season.

Windsor/Stew-Stras also tallied a 57-37 junior varsity win. Arcola dropped to 2-6.

Newton played host to Altamont in a non-conference victory and fell to the visitors 91-46 Tuesday evening.

The Indians edged out to a 21-18 opening quarter lead and led 50-36 at halftime. Altamont had a 32-6 third period.

Alex Biggs finished with a whopping 38 points. The 5-foot-9 senior knocked in 14 field goals that included five three-pointers and was five of eight at the line.

Also in double figures were Aidan Jahraus with 17 and Noah Teasley with 15.

Newton was led by Zak Finn with 11.

Altamont also claimed the junior varsity contest, 58-48.

Vandalia claimed a 72-63 non-conference win over South Central in action Tuesday evening.

The Vandals took a 19-14 opening quarter lead and led 41-25 at hafltime. Wells tallied 27 while Morrison added 17 and Barth 14 for Vandalia.

South Central was led by Logan Lotz with 38 and Aaron Patten with 10. Lotz hit 11 field goals and 14 free throws.

The Cougars drop to 4-3 on the season.

North Clay (Louisville) picked up a 62-42 National Trail Conference victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown Tuesday evening.

The Cardinals edged out to a 13-12 opening quarter lead and led 29-24 at halftime. The big scoring quarter came in the third when North Clay had a 19-9 run.

North Clay had three players in double figures. Luke Fleener led the way with 16 points while Nick Miller and Aleon Rinehart added 14 each.

SEB was led by Andy Goldsborough with 15.
