RAMSEY -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City competed in the Ramsey Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday.

In the first contest, CHBC edged Ramsey, 35-34. CHBC trailed 9-4 after the opening quarter but took a 23-15 hafltime lead and led 29-24 going into the final quarter. Ramsey came back with a 10-6 run but failed to get the victory.

Clayton Wojcik led the way for the winners with 15 points while Carson Evans added eight.

CHBC then lost to St. Elmo/Brownstown, 38-30. CHBC took a 7-1 opening quarter lead and led 15-6 at halftime. SEB came back with a 32-15 second half to pull out the win.

SEB was led by J. Maxey with 13 and Schaub with nine. CHBC was led by Wojcik with 14.

SEB took home the first place trophy and won the cheerleading competition. CHBC finished second while Ramsey took third.

At St. Anthony

St. Anthony downed Greenville in action Saturday at Goff Gym and won over Salem.

In the Greenville contest, St. Anthony took a 19-16 halftime lead then pushed that to 26-18 in the third period.

Flach and Sehy had 13 points each for the Bullpups.

In the Salem contest, St. Anthony was a 40-32 winner in overtime. The Bullpups led 14-10 at halftime and 22-20 going into the third quarter. Salem then came back to knot the score at 32-32 sending the game into overtime. In the overtime period, the Bullpups had an 8-0 run.

Sager scored 11 while Levitt and Willenborg had 10 each.
