North Clay (Louisville) captured wins over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday evening in girls junior high basketball.

North Clay was a 33-20 winner in seventh-grade action. Ballard and Tappendorf scored 12 points each for the winners. CHBC was led by Ruby Stuckemeyer with 10.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay trailed CHBC 18-16 at halftime but came back with a 14-10 second half for the win.

Ballard scored 21 for the winners. CHBC was led by Harleigh Bunch and Gracie Heckert with eight each.

At Cowden

 At Teutopolis

Teutopolis downed Jasper County twice in Friday competition.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest, 23-10, taking a 13-0 opening quarter lead. Ellie Thoele and Sara Niemerg had six points each for the winners. Kuhl led Jasper County with four.

In eighth-grade action, T-town was a 28-6 winner, once again taking a big opening quarter lead, 15-0.

Emily Konkel tallied 12 for the winners. Woodard led Jasper County with four.

T-town is 6-2 in seventh-grade play and unbeaten at 8-0 in eighth-grade action.

In Saturday action, Teutopolis won over Tuscola in seventh-grade play, 34-22. T-town had a 20-12 second and third quarter run. Thoele and Niemerg had six each as the Wooden Shoes improved to 7-2.

In eighth-grade play, the Wooden Shoes won 36-18. T-town zipped out to a 20-2 first half lead. Gourtney Gibson and Katie Kremer led the way with 12 each.

At Altamont

Atlamont picked up two victories over Brownstown/St. Elmo Friday.

Altamont won the seventh-grade contest, 32-21. Altamont held a 19-17 halftime lead then had an 13-4 second half.

Altamont was led by Peyton Osteen with 15 points and Grace Nelson with 13. BSE was led by Whitehead with six points.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont pushed ahead 29-13 by halftime and never looked back in the 49-24 victory.

Nelson led the way with 21 points while Kalianna Becker had 13. BSE was led by Baldridge with seven.
