SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Drury University Lady Panthers are ranked fifth in the preseason by Women's Basketball Division II Bulletin in their 2018-19 season preview.

Drury is returning three starters and eight players from a team that went 31-3, 17-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, repeated as GLVC champions and advanced to the NCAA-II Midwest Regional championship game for the third straight season. Among the returners are Hailey Diestelkamp, last year's MVP of the GLVC Tournament, and Daejah Bernard, last season's Defensive Player of the Year in the conference.

Effingham High School graduate Shelby Myers is a freshman on the team. Myers is a 5-foot-11 center. Her major is Pre-Med/Biology. She was named honorable mention All-Area by the Decatur Herald-Review and the Effingham Daily News for the second straight season her senior year. Myers helped her team to a program-record 31 wins as part of a 31-3 season as they advanced to the state super-sectional round. She averaged 6.6 points., 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

Ashland is ranked number one by the publication while defending national champion Central Missouri is ranked second, Carson-Newman is third, and Indiana (Pa.) is fourth.

One other team in the GLVC is ranked in the D-II Bulletin's top 25 as Southern Indiana is 19th.
