St. Anthony Picks Up Win; EHS Claims Two in F/S Play

SULLIVAN -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed a freshman victory while Sullivan won the sophomore game in boys basketball Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs took a 22-12 first half lead. Sullivan came back with a 32-28 second half run but couldn't overcome that first half by St. Anthony.

St. Anthony was led by three players in double figures, Kyle Hartke, Nick Grunloh and Jay Niebrugge with 10 each. Grunloh had nine rebounds.

In the sophomore contest, Sullivan claimed a 49-29 victory. The Redskins took a 25-15 first half lead and went on to claim the win.

St. Anthony was led by Conner Greene with 12 points and six rebounds and Kyle Bourgeois with six points and five rebounds.

Effingham played host to Robinson and captured two victories. Effingham nabbed a 53-38 win in freshman play.

Effingham was led by Jared Minor with 15 points.

In sophomore action, Effingham claimed a 50-39 win. The Hearts jumped out to a 20-9 opening quarter lead and never looked back. Kevin Daugherty tallied 14 for the winners.
