Teutopolis Junior High School claimed two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in girls basketball action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game, 22-15. Ellie Thoele led the Shoes with eight points.

St. Anthony was led by Geen with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Teutopolis won 30-26. Emily Konkel tallied 24 points for the winners.

Fearday led St. Anthony with 14.

At Farina

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed South Central in National Trail Conference action Thursday.

CHBC won the seventh-grade contest 35-18 to improve to 2-0 in the NTC, 3-0 overall. The winners were led by Ruby  Stuckemeyer with 19 and Marissa Summers with nine.

Leading South Central was E. Watwood with six.

In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC won 36-31. Gracie Heckert tallied 17 for the winners who improve to 2-0 in the conference, 3-0 overall.

South Central was led by Arnold with 11 and Garret with eight.

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo was a winner in both games against Stewardson-Strasburg in National Trail Conference play Thursday.

BSE won the seventh-grade game, 30-27. BSE held a 13-12 halftime lead. Seabaugh and Ireland had 12 points each for the winners.

Wernsing led Stew-Stras with nine while Vonderheide and Kinkelaar had eight each. Stew-Stras drops to 0-2 in the conference, 1-2 overall.

In the eighth-grade contest, BSE pounded in 37 points for a 37-3 victory. BSE held an 18-3 halftime lead.

McWhorter scored 12 and Myers 11 for the winners. Weeden had the lone three points for Stew-Stras who drops to 0-2 in the conference, 0-3 overall.
