St. Anthony Drops Frosh/Soph Boys Games to Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon came calling and handed Effingham St. Anthony a 37-25 loss in freshman boys basketball play and a 25-18 defeat in sophomore action.

The Rams jumped out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead and never looked back in the freshman victory. Bowers tallied 11 and Uhls 10 for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Jeff Niebruagge with 12 points.

In the sophomore contest, Mount Vernon picked up the win. The Rams led 14-4 at halftime. Hunter tallied nine for the winners. Zach Gardewine scored six for the Bulldogs.
