Basketball Hall of Famer Anne Donovan died of heart failure Wednesday at the age of 56.

Donovan won a national championship at Old Dominion and two Olympic gold medals as a player and another as a coach.

The 6-foot-8 center played at Old Dominion and went on to play professional basketball in Japan and Italy.

Donovan coached in college and the WNBA. She won a title in the WNBA with the Seattle Storm in 2004. She also coached the Indiana Fever, New York Liberty, Charlotte Sting and Connecticut Sun..

She was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2015.
