41st Annual Elks Hoop Shoot

The 41st Annual Elks Hoop Shoot will be held Saturday, January 5 at Effingham High School. Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and shooting starts sharply at 9 a.m.

Age brackets are 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 years old as of April 1, 2013. Only one winner in each age bracket from each school.

At the local Elks Hoop Shoot in Effingham, there will be three trophies in each age group for first, second and third places. Elk Frisbees will be given to all participants. The best girl and boy free throw shooter of each group will be given a special plaque. Trophies and basketball are on display at the Elks Lodge on South Banker Street.

Winners will advance to the Elks District Hoop Shoot contest to be held Saturday, January 12 at Pana High School, Pana. Sign up is from noon to 1 p.m. and shooting begins at 1 p.m.
