KANSAS -- Area teams competed for third, fifth and seventh place finishes at the Tri-County Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday and all three came up short.
Winning the championship of the tournament was Arthur-Lovington with a 63-41 win over Paris.
In the third place game, Westville downed Stewardson-Strasburg 63-36. Westville scored the first eight points of the contest and never trailed the Comets. The winners held a 30-17 halftime lead.
Stew-Stras was led by Justin Fulk and Jason Fry with nine points each. Fulk pulled down with rebounds.

Hutsonville/Palestine handed Windsor a 68-46 loss in the fifth place contest.
H/P edged out to a 32-26 halftime lead then had a 14-5 third period run to pull away. Williams tallied 18 for the winners while Heflin added 13.
Windsor was led by Trey Leasher with 14, Christian Smith with 11 and Alex Allen with 10.

In the seventh place game, Cumberland fell to Tri-County 60-48.
Tri-County edged ahead 15-14 after one quarter and 27-24 at halftime. Tri-County then broke the game wide open with a 20-9 third period surge.
Clap led the winners with 19 points while Flesner chipped in with 15. Cumberland was led by Samuel Bauguss with seven points.
