The Philadelphia 76ers eliminated the Miami Heat with their 104-91 victory Tuesday night and became the first Eastern Conference team to advance to the second round.

The Sixers now await the winner of the Boston-Milwaukee series.

The Golden State Warriors advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs with a 99-91 Game 5 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors next face the New Orleans Pelicans, although it’s not yet known if Stephon Curry will be back.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook has been fined $10,000 and assessed a postgame technical foul for his confrontation with Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert during Monday’s game.

The NBA announced that a record 236 players are on the official early-entry list, including 181 from the college ranks. College players who’ve entered the NBA draft, but don’t hire an agent have until May 30th to return to their programs.
