EHS Downs Taylorville During Senior Night

Effingham High School played host to Taylorville during Senior Night festivities and claimed a 56-52 victory in boys basketball action Friday evening.

The Hearts trailed Taylorville 19-16 after one quarter despite nine points by Landon Wolfe. But Wolfe continued his hot scoring with seven more in the second period and Parker Wolfe connected on two three-pointers and a free throw for seven and the Hearts pulled within 33-32 at halftime.

EHS trailed 44-41 going into the final quarter then put on a big 15-8 run as L. Wolfe scored 10 points and the Hearts took the four-point victory.

L. Wolfe finished with 29 points while P. Wolfe added 12 for the Hearts.

Taylorville captured the junior varsity game in overtime, 58-54.
