TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis' Macy Michels scored 10 of her 15 points in the opening quarter as the Shoes ripped off to a 22-3 lead on Mattoon and never looked back in this one to win, 53-26.

Jolene Bueker contributed six points in the opening quarter and finished with 13. Also in double figures was Mariana Hemmen who nailed four baskets and three of six at the line for 11 points.

J. Bueker, Michels and Morgan Mette had three assists each. J. Bueker blocked two shots. Michels pulled down seven rebounds.

Dieterich captured a National Trail Conference win over South Central, 50-39.

The Movin' Maroons moved ahead 18-4 in the opening quarter and led 27-9 at halftime.

Anna Shadle tallied 15 points while Gracie Britton chipped in with 11. Cassie Vahling led in rebounds with six while Britton had five. Kaitlyn Bloemer had two assists. Shadle led in steals with five while Bloemer had four.

South Central had two players in double figures. Kayli Swift tallied 14 while Sydnee Garrett added 12. The Cougars drop to 0-8 in the conference, 2-20 overall.

Dieterich improved to 1-5 in the conference, 8-19 overall.

St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up a victory over Ramsey Thursday evening, 64-30.

BSE ripped off to a 23-6 opening quarter lead and led 34-12 at halftime.

Olivia Campbell, a 5-foot-6 freshman, led the way for SEB with 18 points and three steals. Natalie Oberlink, a 5-foot-10 sophomore, scored 16. Deana Shelton pulled down 10 rebounds. Claire Wilhour had eight boards and five steals.

Olney came calling and downed Newton, 55-41, in action Thursday evening.

The Eagles held a 12-10 opening quarter lead but Olney had a 22-9 second period to lead 32-21 at halftime.

The highlight of the evening for the Eagles was Abby Frohning, a 5-foot-9 senior, scoring her 1,000th career point. With just under two minutes to go in the third quarter, Frohning hit a basket that gave her the honor. She finished with 19, connecting on six field goals, that included a three-pointer, and was six of 10 at the line.

Frohning and Taylor Smith were honored along with Manager Brett Woodard during Senior night festivities.

Newton drops to 14-10 and is 3-4 in the Little Illini Conference.

Olney won the junior varsity game, 34-27.
