T-town Beats Mt. Zion, LIC Tourney Scores

MOUNT ZION -- Three players scored in double figures for Teutopolis as the Wooden Shoes downed Mount Zion, 60-50 Tuesday evening in boys basketball action.

T-town took a 15-8 opening quarter lead as Eric Kremer tallied seven points and Collin Kreke and Collin Funneman knocked in a three-pointer each.

Mount Zion played the Shoes even in the second period but T-town held a seven point lead at halftime. T-town then came out with a 17-12 third quarter.

Kremer finished with 22 points for the Shoes hitting eight field goals, that included a three-pointer, and was five of seven at the line. Lee Hardiek scored 12 and Ian Addis chipped in with 10.

Dawson Smith led in assists with four while Landon Jansen added three. Kremer had two blocked shots and led in rebounds with 14.

At Casey

Casey-Westfield moved into the championship of the Little Illini Conference Tournament with a victory Tuesday evening.

The Warriors, who are hosting the tourney, downed Marshall 63-49.

In the second game, Robinson beat Flora, 57-41. The Maroons also moved into the title contest and will face Casey-Westfield at 8 p.m. Friday.

Marshall and Flora dropped into the third place game which is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Tonight's games feature Olney taking on Red Hill (Bridgeport) at 6 and Newton against Lawrenceville at 7:30 in the consolation bracket. The winners will advance to the consy championship Friday at 5.
