Lady Hearts Sweep Field to Win Round Robin Tournament

The Effingham Lady Hearts defeated Greenville 45-28 Friday night to sweep the field and win the Effingham Girls Round Robin Tournament.

Effingham went 4-0 for the week, also defeating Centralia 62-16, Pana 56-35, and Vandalia 59-35.

Carsyn Fearday and Abby Weis led Effingham in the win over Greenville with 12 points apiece. Skylar Schafer scored six points, and Natalie Carie, Miranda Fox and Shelby Myers each scored five points.

The Lady Hearts improved to 19-1 with the victory.

Effingham's Natalie Carie, Abby Weis and Carsyn Fearday made the All-Tournament Team. Other members of the team included Allie Fults (Centralia), Olivia Marquardt (Vandalia), Lanee McNary (Vandalia), Shanis Schoonover (Pana), Aubrey Funneman (Pana), Nancy Fritzsche (Greenville) and Megan Hallemann (Greenville).

In the other game Friday, Pana downed Vandalia 51-42. Effingham was followed in the standings by Greenville 3-1, Pana 2-2, Vandalia 1-3 and Centralia 0-4.
