Effingham St. Anthony claimed two victories over Olney in two freshman boys basketball action Thursday.

In the freshman A game, the Bulldogs led 20-17 at halftime then had a 31-23 second half run for the 51-40 win.

Logan Antrim scored 17 for the Bulldogs while Kennan Walsh added 13.

In the freshman B contest, St. Anthony was a 49-28 winner.

The Bulldogs had very even scoring as all 10 players contributed points in the contest. Leading the way were James Schuette, Wade Lawrence, Landon Adams and Logan Wallace with eight each.

At Charleston

Effingham fell victim to Charleston in both freshman and sophomore games Thursday evening.

The Trojans won the freshman game, 56-38. Charleston led 27-25 at halftime then turned on the afterburners in the second half with a 29-13 run.

Drew Thompson led the Hearts with 18 points while Tristin Duncan added 16.

In the sophomore contest, Charleston claimed a 59-42 win.

Effingham had one player hit double figures, Austin Waldhoff with 11.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis scored 66 points in both the freshman and sophomore contests to beat Paris Thursday evening.

T-town won the freshman game 66-56. The Shoes led 36-25 at halftime and 52-40 going into the final quarter.

Jordan Hardiek scored 18 while Evan Addis picked up 17 and Matthew Deters 12 for the Shoes.

In the sophomore contest, T-town was a 66-57 winner. The Shoes trailed Paris 29-27 at halftime then had a 22-13 third period surge.

Four players hit double figures for the Shoes. Brock Deters led the way with 14 while Mitch Hemmen added 13, Brady McMahon 11 and Evan Wermert 10.
