Effingham St. Anthony won its own freshman tourney Thursday.

Effingham St. Anthony captured its own Freshman Boys Basketball Tournament Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs downed Teutopolis 58-41 in the title contest. The Bulldogs took a 13-11 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 30-19 at halftime.

St. Anthony had a 17-10 third period run. Kennan Walsh led the way with 17 points while Logan Antrim added 16.

T-town was led by Mitch Hardiek with 11.

In the third place contest, Effingham edged Dieterich 52-48.

The score was tied at 14-14 in the opening quarter. Dieterich moved ahead 32-24 at halftime as Dalton Will tallied six and Derek Kuhl and Cory Gephart had five each.

The Movin' Maroons led 44-38 going into the final quarter. The tide turned as the Hearts came roaring back. Max Woelfer and Drew Thompson had five points each while Jacob Stoneburner contributed 14. EHS had a 14-4 run to pull out the victory.

Thompson led the way with 15 points while Woelfer added 13 and Stoneburner 12.

Dieterich was led by Will with 17 and Gephart with 15.

At Robinson

Effingham fell to Robinson in a sophomore boys basketball contest Thursday, 44-42.

The Hearts were led in scoring by Aiden Beck with 16.
