Junior High Boys Basketball Results -- Jan. 6

TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham St. Anthony competed in the Teutopolis junior high boys basketball shootout Saturday.

The Bullpups seventh-grade team fell to East St. Louis Mason Clark 53-17 and lost the eighth-grade contest 42-13.

Griffin Sehy led St. Anthony in seventh-grade action with six points. Mendella and Niebrugge had five points each in eighth-grade play.

Teutopolis downed the Bullpups in both seventh and eighth-grade action.

T-town won the seventh-grade contest 39-27. Niebrugge led the Shoes with 12 points. Jon Willenborg and Eli Levitt led the Bullpups with eight each.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town claimed a 46-29 win. Bannick scored 14 and Bushur 12.

St. Anthony was led by Mendella and Chojnicki with eight each.

T-town lost to East St. Louis Mason Clark in seventh-grade play 30-22 and won in eighth-grade action 51-39.

The Shoes were led by B. Niebrugge in the seventh-grade contest with seven points. Bushur tallied 26 and Bannick 13 in the eighth-grade game.

Jasper County fell in opening round play of the LEIC Tournament seventh-grade.

Jasper County dropped a 43-20 decision to Marshall. Jasper County was led by Streat with nine points. The squad drops to 6-12 on the season.

In the eighth-grade tourney, Jasper County lost to Paris Mayo, 38-26.

Koebele scored eight for Jasper County.
