CENTRALIA -- Effingham St. Anthony split victories with Centralia in boys junior high basketball action Wednesday.

The Bullpups claimed the seventh-grade contest 43-33. St. Anthony held a 14-4 opening quarter lead but here came Centralia.

Centralia had a 15-6 second period run to pull within 20-19. Centralia then had a 10-9 third period to knot the score at 29-29 going into the final quarter. The Bullpups came back with a whopping 14-4 run for the victory.

Griffin Sehy scored 13 while Max Sager had 12 for the Bullpups.

In the eighth-grade contest, Centralia claimed a 56-44 win.

Centralia stepped out to an 18-7 opening quarter lead but the Bullpups came back with a 19-8 second period to tie the score at 26-26 at halftime. Centralia then had a 30-18 second half.

Stewart and Mendella led the Bullpups with 13 points each while Blanchette chipped in with 10.
