T-town, Cumberland Nab Boys Cage Wins

PARIS -- Teutopolis High School pounded Paris 71-39 in boys basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes ran off to a 20-10 opening quarter lead on the strength of three trifectas by Ian Addis and led 45-17 at halftime. In the second period it was Collin Funneman who sank three trifectas. The Shoes' Clint Weber took over in the third quarter with eight points.

Weber finished with 21 points to lead T-town while Addis and Lee Hardiek added 15 points each. Funneman finished just out of double figures with nine. Landon Jansen led in assists with four. Funneman had nine rebounds while Addis pulled down seven. L. Hardiek had three steals.

The Shoes improve to 11-2 on the season and will be back in action Friday at Champaign St. Thomas More.

At St. Elmo

Cumberland came calling and went home with a 58-44 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown Tuesday evening.

The Pirates held a 15-12 opening quarter lead and led 28-23 at halftime. Cumberland then had a 30-21 second half.

Cumberland as led by Tyson Magee with 22 points and Brennyn Cutts with 13. Myles Gerhardt was on the verge of double figures with nine.

St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Lewis Brown with 19. The Eagles shot only 31 percent from the field. SEB is now 9-4 on the season and will be back in action Friday against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.
