The  Lincoln Land women's basketball team came away with a 81-61 win against Illinois Valley C.C. Saturday.  The first quarter saw Nicole Robinson and Madison Jones drain three 3's to jump out to the early lead of 18-15.  The Teutopolis duo of Molly Smith and Shelby Thompson kept the three point baskets coming by hitting one each in the second quarter for a 33-28 Logger halftime lead.  Lincoln Land started the third quarter where they left off with Hannah Cameron and Smith drilling 4 treys as the Loggers extended the lead to 58-47.  Great free throw shooting allowed the Loggers to finish of IVCC in the fourth quarter.  Smith, Cameron, Lindsey Storm and Denzelle Moore went a combined 9/10 from the free throw line to preserve the Lincoln Land win.

Lincoln Land shot 29/69 (42%) from the field, 9/21 (42%) from the three and finished 14/17 (82%) from the free throw line.

Coach Albert was happy to see the shots falling today.  "I was really glad to see shots being made from the perimeter.  Those made baskets opened up the block and we took advantage of extending their zone.  Molly and Hannah are starting to get back into flow after missing much of the season with injuries.  Their presence on the court gives us scoring from the paint and behind the arc. Defensively, we're beginning to realize how important it is to get stops and finishing a defensive sequence with a rebound or steal.  This season has been tough so far based on the number of injuries we've had so it's nice to see hard work paying off."

Molly Smith led the Loggers with 17 points and Hannah Cameron finished with 16.  Madison Jones and Denzelle Moore finished with 15 and 13 points.  Nicole Robinson had 6 assists and 4 steals to lead Lincoln Land.  Jones led the team with 6 rebounds and Cameron pulled down 5.

Lincoln Land improved to 7-4.
