Effingham High School claimed freshman/sophomore boys basketball wins over Robinson Thursday evening.

The Hearts won the freshman game 63-32. EHS held a 21-6 opening quarter lead and led 31-16 at halftime and 54-22 going into the final period.

Parker Wolfe scored 26 points, all through the first three quarters. He hit 11 field goals, including three trifectas, and was one of two at the line.

Also in double figures were Nate Thompson with 13 and Tristin Duncan with 12.

In the sophomore game,  Effingham was a 52-17 winner. The Hearts led 22-11 at halftime.

Parker Snow scored 13 points while Aiden Becker tallied 11 for the winners.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis picked up two victories over Vandalia in freshman/sophomore action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes easily handled the Vandals 73-17 in freshman play. The Shoes led 43-4 at halftime.

Evan Addis led the way with 16 points while Matthew Deters chipped in with 13 and Hayden Ruholl added 11. Two players were on the edge of double figures as Evan Wermert and Jack Poelker had nine each.

In the sophomore contest, T-town claimed a 60-52 win. Vandalia held a 26-21 halftime lead but T-town came back to pull ahead 39-37.

The Shoes then had a 21-13 final quarter.

Brock Deters led the way with 19 points while Mitch Hemmen added 16 and Gavin Huber 14.
