NEOGA -- Neoga High School broke a 7-7 opening quarter tie and went on for a 44-33 girls basketball victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Monday evening.

Banning scoerd 23 points for the Indians while O. Titus and Partlow added eight each. The Indians improve to 5-3.

The Hatchets were led by Trussell with 15 and Hayes with eight.

Altamont claimed a 55-15 win over Dieterich Monday evening.

The Indians ran off to a 24-5 opening quarter lead and led 38-5 at halftime.

Three players hit double digits for the Indians. Mary Guse tallied 15 while Tinley Mette scored 12 and Leah Mayhaus added 11.

Dieterich was led by Jennifer Robards with six points. Cassie Vahling led in rebounds with six. Anna Shadle and Andrea Bierman had two assists each. Bierman added four steals.

Dieterich drops to 2-6 on the season.

Brownstown/St. Elmo defeated South Central 56-22.

BSE took a 20-7 opening quarter lead and led 52-16 going into the final quarter.

Olivia Campbell led the way for BSE with 18 points while Clare Wilhour tallied 12.

South Central was led by Sydnee Garrett with 11. The Cougars fall to 0-3 in the National Trail Conference, 1-3 overall.

"We continued to make imrpovements tonight," said South Central Coach Gary Kapper. "The one area we need to get better is taking care of the ball. We had too many unforced turnovers. We have to work to improve our passing. Our young players are improving as they play more."
