Sigel St. Michael and Teutopolis picked up a victory each in girls junior high basketball competition Thursday.

St. Michael edged the Wooden Shoes 31-28 in seventh-grade play. The two teams were tied at 14-14 at halftime. T-town took a 22-17 lead going into the final quarter. The Sharpshooters then rallied for a 14-6 run to pull out the victory.

Bueker scored 14 and Niebrugge 11 for the winners. T-town was led by Emily Konkel with 13. T-town drops to 14-3.

In eighth-grade action, T-town was a 25-18 winner. The Shoes trailed St. Michael 10-7 at halftime then had an 11-5 third period run for the win.

Izzy Hardiek scored 10 for the Shoes who improve to 15-2. St. Michael was led by Cremens with eight.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split wins with Brownstown/St. Elmo in action Thursday.

CHBC improved to 8-0 in the National Trail Conference with a 25-12 win in seventh-grade play. Gracie Heckert scored seven points for the winners who improve to 17-3 overall.

BSE was led by McWhorter with four.

In the eighth-grade game, BSE was a 33-25 winner. CHBC led 13-12 at halftime but BSE came back with a 21-12 second half run.

BSE was led by Griggs with 15. CHBC was led by Mady Wojcik with 14. The Bobcats drop to 4-4 in the conference, 11-9 overall.
