Effingham Sacred Heart claimed two victories over St. Peter Lutheran in boys junior high basketball action Monday evening.

The Shamrocks nabbed a 40-10 win in seventh-grade play. The Shamrocks were led by Lohman with 12 and Wiedman with 11.

In eighth-grade action, Sacred Heart won 42-26. Zerrusen tallied 24 for the winners.

At Sigel

Effingham St. Anthony and Sigel St. Michael were both winners Monday evening.

The Bullpups claimed the seventh-grade contest, 52-20. St. Anthony held a 21-2 first quarter lead and never looked back.

Max Sager scored 18 and Griffin Sehy 11 for St. Anthony. Zac Niebrugge led the Sharpshooters with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Michael was the one who stepped out to the early lead with a 20-5 count after the opening quarter.

Croy tallied 26 for the winners while Niebrugge scored 14.

St. Anthony was led by Kyle Stewart with 16 and Josh Blanchette with 10.

At Effingham

Effingham split wins with Mount Vernon Casey Zadok Monday evening.

The Mustangs claimed the seventh-grade game 53-39. Three players hit double figures for the Mustangs who are now 1-0. Westendorf tallied 13 while Wolfe and Donaldson scored 10 each.

In eighth-grade action, Mount Vernon Casey Zadok was a 42-20 winner. The Mustangs drop to 0-1.

Pals led Effingham with eight points.

At Dieterich

Jasper County and Dieterich split victories Monday evening.

Dieterich was a 29-22 winner in seventh-grade play. Kidd led the winners with 21 points.

Street led Jasper County with eight. Jasper County dropped to 1-3.

In eighth-grade competition, Jasper County picked up a 37-30 win. Jasper County trailed Dieterich 16-15 at halftime then had a 17-6 third quarter. Jasper County improves to 3-1.

Schafer tallied 11 for the winners. Lidy led Dieterich with 16.

At Sullivan

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up the seventh-grade victory over Sullivan in action Monday.

Stew-Stras stepped out to a 10-3 opening quarter lead and went on for a 48-17 win to improve to 4-0.

J. Wittenberg tallied 22 for the Stars.

In eighth-grade action, Sullivan picked up a 36-31 win. Stew-Stras drops to 0-2.

Wernsing scored 10 for the Stars.

Teutopolis picked up two B game wins over Mattoon.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 50-21 by jumping out to a 17-2 opening quarter lead.

Bloemer, Siemer and Hoene had eight points each in even scoring.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 39-20. Konkel scored 16 for the Shoes.

Altamont handed North Clay (Louisville) a 45-13 loss in seventh-grade play Monday.

Altamont held a 19-11 halftime lead then had a 26-2 second half. Kollmann scored 14 and Hammer 11 for the winners.

North Clay was led by Fleener with five points.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay captured a 58-35 victory. North Clay led by 10 at halftime and had a 32-19 second half run.

North Clay was led by Clifton with 16 and Weidner with 11. Altamont was led by Suckow and Winn with 11 each.
