Junior High Boys Basketball -- Oct. 31

NEWTON -- Altamont and Jasper County picked up a win each during junior high boys basketball action Tuesday evening.

Altamont claimed the seventh-grade game 33-16. Altamont held a 19-10 halftime lead then had an 11-2 third quarter. Hammer tallied 11 while Kollman added seven.

Jasper County (1-1) was led by Jansen with six points.

In the eighth-grade game, Jasper County (2-0) led 24-12 at halftime and went on for a 32-22 win over Altamont.

Koebele tallied 12 and Schafer seven for the winners. Altamont was led by Reardon with nine.
