Teutopolis 3-0 in Salem Girls Tourney; Altamont Beats B'town

SALEM -- Teutopolis High School finished pool play with a 3-0 record at the Salem Girls Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament Saturday.

Teutopolis opened play Friday with a 51-31 victory over Highland. In Saturday action, T-town beat Centralia 37-25 and then downed host Salem 49-33.

In the opening game Saturday, T-town took an 8-2 lead over Centralia and led 20-9 at halftime. The Wooden  Shoes came out with a 10-8 run in the third period. Hartke and Repking tallied 15 each for the winners.

In the second game against Salem, T-town again jumped out to a big lead going to 11-4 in the first quarter and led 23-8 at halftime. Repking again scored 15 whille Hartke and Thompson chipped in with 11 each.

 

T-town will now meet Belleville East at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

At Altamont

Altamont handed Brownstown a 33-22 loss in National Trail Conference action Friday evening.

Altamont took a 12-7 opening quarter lead and led 17-9 at halftime. Brownstown came back wo pull within 22-17 going into the final quarter but Altamont had an 11-5 run.

E. Biggs led Altamont with 13 points. Brownstown was led by Brown with seven.
