ROBINSON -- Effingham and Robinson Nuttall split victories in seventh and eighth-grade girls junior high basketball play Tuesday evening.

Effingham was a 40-15 winner in seventh-grade play. Ramos tallied 11 and Barr 10 in even scoring for the Mustangs.

In the eighth-grade contest, Robinson Nuttall claimed a 28-6 victory. Conkling led the Mustangs with three points.

At Beecher City

Effingham St. Anthony and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick split wins on the Beecher City home floor.

St. Anthony won the seventh-grade game 17-13. Taylor Oldham tallied 14 for the winners. Saba led BCCH with seven. BCCH drops to 3-16.

In eighth-grade play, BCCH claimed a 34-10 victory. Woltman scored 17 and Schmidt 10 for the winners who improve to 6-13.

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up two victories over Dieterich Tuesday evening.

Stew-Stras was a 32-14 winner in seventh-grade play to improve to 10-8. Davis tallied 10 for the winners. Gephart and Robards led Dieterich with four each.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras edged Dieterich 32-30 to even its record at 8-8. B. Schlechte scored 21 for the winners. Bannick led Dieterich with 12.

Sigel St. Michael picked up two victories over Shelbyville Tuesday evening.

St. Michael took a 12-6 opening half lead and went on for a 26-19 win in seventh-grade action. Bailey Schumacher tallied six to lead the winners.

In eighth-grade play, St. Michael won 41-26. Christy Hoene tallied 15 for the winners.

Jasper County edged Mattoon in seventh-grade play 45-44 in overtime. Grace Hartrich tallied 22 and Ariel Richards 17 in the win.

In eighth-grade action, Mattoon was a 33-22 winner. Abby Frohning led Jasper County with 11.
