Brownstown Nabs Two Wins In Girls Action; Area Roundup

BROWNSTOWN -- Brownstown Junior High School claimed two victories over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick in girls basketball action Thursday evening.

Brownstown was a 32-5 winner over BCCH in seventh-grade action. Dana Shelton tallied 11 and Viramantes 10 for the winners. BCCH drops to 0-4 in the National Trail Conference, 2-16 overall.

In eighth-grade play, Brownstown was a 37-19 winner. Brown scored 12 for Brownstown. Hope Barnes tallied seven for BCCH which drops to 2-3 in the conference, 6-12 overall.

At Newton

Jasper County downed Altamont twice. Jasper County was a 22-19 winner in seventh-grade play. Abby Frohning tallied 14 points. C. McHugh led Altamont with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County claimed a 44-32 win over Altamont. Arial Richards scored 13 and Grace Hartrich 10 for the winners. E. Biggs led Altamont with 16.
