BCCH, T-town Take One Win; Stew-Stras Claims Two

Effingham Sacred Heart fell to Cumberland twice in girls junior high basketball play Tuesday evening.

Cumberland was a 27-14 winner in seventh-grade play. Ruholl and Flood tallied six each for the winners. Sacred Heart was led by B. Webster with four.

In eighth-grade play, Cumberland edged the Shamrocks 33-31. Jackson scored 22 for Cumberland. S. Webster led Sacred Heart with 19.

At Shelbyville

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick Junior High School picked up an eighth-grade victory over Shelbyville.

BCCH was a 29-24 winner in overtime in eighth-grade play. Hope Barnes tallied 10 while Skylar Morrison had eight in the win as BCCH improved to 6-11.

In the seventh-grade contest, Shelbyville edged BCCH, 14-11. Trainor led Shelbyville with seven while Taylor Oldham led BCCH with five.

At Olney

Teutopolis split wins with Olney. The Wooden Booties claimed the seventh-grade contest 22-10. Marianna Hemmen tallied 10 for T-town as it improved to 13-6.

In eighth-grade play, Olney edged T-town 50-47. Three players hit double digits for T-town. Jamie Sandschafer tallied 14, Shelby Thompson and Raegan Drees 12 each. T-town suffered its first loss and drops to 18-1.

Stewardson-Strasburg downed Ramsey 46-4 in seventh-grade play. Tabbert tallied 16 for the winners while nine players scored in the contest.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras was a 36-11 winner. B. Schlechte scored 15 while Everett chipped in with eight.

Stew-Stras is 9-8 in seventh-grade play, 7-8 in eighth-grade action.
