Final Boys AP Basketball Polls

In the final Associated Press boys basketball polls, three area teams still remained in the top 10 across the state.

Effingham moved up a spot in the Class 3A poll. The Hearts moved from eighth up to seventh. Effingham sports a 23-4 record and has 35 points. They suffered a tough loss Tuesday evening to Breese Mater Dei in overtime. The poll has the Hearts at 23-3.

In the Class 2A state poll, Teutopolis remained in the No. 4 spot. The Wooden Shoes are now 27-3 on the season and opened the Pana Regional Tuesday evening with a victory over Cumberland. The Shoes have 78 points in the poll and were 25-3 when the poll was taken.

Effingham St. Anthony dropped two spots in the Class 1A state poll from eighth to 10th. The Bulldogs hare a 23-5 record and have nine points in the poll. The Bulldogs open regional competition tonight at North Clay (Louisville) where they will take on Odin in the opening game at 6 p.m.
