T-town Girls Move Into Regional Title Contest

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School moved into the championship of its own Class 2A Girls Basketball Regional with a victory over Vandalia Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes ripped off to a 12-4 opening quarter lead on the Vandals. The Shoes held a 21-15 halftime lead then had a 28-16 second half.

Jamie Sandschafer led in scoring with 14 points while Jolene Bueker tallied 12. Shelby Thompson scored nine.

In the second contest, No. 5 Lawrenceville tallied a 51-43 win over No. 3 Flora. Mefford scored 18 and Parrish 10 for the winners.

T-town will face Lawrenceville at 7 p.m. Thursday for the championship.

Class 2-A Marshall Regional

Marshall captured a win to move into the title contest of its own Class 2A Regional Tuesday evening.

The top-seeded Runnin' Lions easily handled Robinson 63-28 in the opening game.

In the second contest, Casey-Westfield edged Pana 50-48.

Marshall and Casey-Westfield will meet for the regional championship Thursday at 7 p.m.
